Delete my account

We hate dark patterns. Deleting your TailorPup account takes one tap in the app, or one email if you don't have access to the app. Everything is wiped within 30 days — no recovery, no "come back" emails.

This page exists to comply with Apple App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v): every app that lets you create an account must offer an easy in-app deletion path. We go a step further by hosting the same option here, accessible without logging in, in case you can't reach the app for any reason.

Option 1 — Delete from the app (preferred)

  1. Open the TailorPup app on iOS or Android.
  2. Sign in if you're not already.
  3. Go to Settings → Privacy.
  4. Tap Delete my account.
  5. Confirm by typing the word DELETE (or its localized equivalent — SUPPRIMER in French, LÖSCHEN in German, etc.).
  6. Tap the destructive red button.

Your account and all data are deleted server-side immediately upon confirmation. The app signs you out and returns to the welcome screen.

Option 2 — Email request

If you can't access the app (lost device, forgotten password, already uninstalled), email us:

Subject: Account deletion request
Body should include:

  • The email address you used to sign up
  • Your dog's name (helps us match the account)
  • A short statement: "I confirm I want to delete my TailorPup account permanently."

We'll verify ownership (usually by sending a confirmation email to the address on file) and process the deletion within 72 hours. You'll get one final confirmation email when it's done — then nothing else, ever.

What gets deleted

  • Your authentication record (email, password hash, sign-in metadata).
  • Your dog profile (name, breed, age, behaviours, goals).
  • All training session records and your weekly feedback.
  • Any dog photos you uploaded.
  • Your subscription metadata (we retain the Stripe receipt as required by tax law — see below).

What gets kept (and why)

  • Payment records — French and EU accounting law (art. L123-22 du Code de commerce, plus VAT regulations) requires us to retain transaction records for 10 years. These records contain only your email and amount paid; the dog profile and content are gone.
  • Anonymized analytics — aggregated metrics (e.g. "1,234 users on Week 5") survive deletion since they don't identify you.
  • Backups — Supabase rolling 7-day backups are purged on a 7-day cycle. Deleted data leaves all backups within 7 days of the deletion.

Cancel your subscription first if needed

Account deletion stops billing immediately, but it doesn't automatically refund the current period. If you want both, we recommend:

  1. Cancel your subscription (Settings → Subscription).
  2. If you're within the 7-day window, request a refund per our refund policy.
  3. Once the refund is settled, delete your account.

Recovery

Deletion is final. We have no "trash" or recovery option. If you want to come back later, you'll create a new account from scratch and re-onboard your dog.
